We were flying to another state to camp and our campsite was right on the lake so I really wanted to be able to kayak. We needed something we could take on the airplane and this inflatable kayak was affordable. It was PERFECT other than be super heavy. It was basically one whole checked bag. But sooo worth it. It took us maybe 15-20 minutes to inflate it and put it all together and a few minutes to deflate it and fold it back up. Other people had brought boats and weren’t able to take them out to the water because of all the mud but this kayak was so easy to carry and was absolutely perfect for our trip. My boyfriend is 6’3 and in the back he didn’t have any leg room. In the front I was good, but I’m on 5’4. We weigh 400 lbs together and it held us just fine.

I bought one for my husband for Christmas and ordered a second immediately. We each take one out with one of us in the rear seat to paddle, and our daughters in the front seat with no paddle. It’s it pretty difficult to maneuver in stronger currents when only one person does the paddling, but they seem pretty stable. It does take a little bit of time to inflate/deflate but the trade-off is they are easy to transport and store. Durability seems pretty good for being inflatable and hasn’t been a concern (except for when we saw a gator slip into the water a few feet away). Overall, these are a great entry-level option for getting into kayaking at a very affordable price point.

I was hoping it would be this good. It was very durable material and surprisingly, the oars are great quality. I went out once and forgot the fin so don't forget that, it's much harder to navigate without it. It doesn't take on any water and even has a drain hole on one end just in case. My friend has the challenger and says the bottom is not inflatable like the expedition is and she takes on tons of water because it's so low to the water. She loved this one because you're up out of the water. Even my dog enjoyed the ride. Great price for a great product.

I love this kayak and it is very popular where we live. I am 6' 3", 190 and it's fairly easy to maneuver. I use it for myself and my three-year-old. It is a perfect size for that. However, due to my long legs-the kayak wouldn't be great for a second adult. It works out well to put a small child in the front with a small cooler for snacks/drinks. The bag and pump/accessories fit behind the seat if you're out by yourself and unable to leave these items on shore. With my daughter in the front, I still have plenty of leg room. By myself, it is perfect- I have space to kick back and lay down. I also do this with my daughter in the boat by just tossing my legs over the sides. The boat and paddles are fantastic quality, which is why I give this item 5 stars. Overall, I love this kayak and so does my daughter.

I've done "kabrewing" a handful of times. We just bought a new house right next to a small river and one allure was being able to go kayaking. Traditional kayaks come with some major inconveniences regarding transport and storage. Cost was not a big factor, but these were cheap enough to take a risk. I bought two K2s and a Challenger k1. We took them out for the first time this last weekend. The water depth ranged from "getting stuck on rocks" shallow to about 5 feet. Because of the shallow spots, we did not put the skegs on. That made the trip very frustrating. The kayaks wanted to spin, constantly. At times, I just wanted to lay back and float, but then mine would turn around backwards. Maybe this was because my 6 year old was in front and the weight was rear biased, but I didnt have this problem in a normal cheap kayak rental.
That said, I'll try with the skeg on next time.
As expected, the space-saving advantage is very convenient. I inflated it with the included pump and it worked fine but required bending over, two feet on the "pedals," and looking silly like others mentioned. It also came apart with all three kayaks but stayed together after I screwed it back together. I bought a rechargeable inflator/deflator and it made the process super fast and easy, and looked way cooler. Get it! Takes less than 5 minutes to inflate.
Note that the bottom is it's own chamber and each side is an independent chamber. Even if the bottom fails, the kayak will float due to the triple redundancy.
We also got many compliments on the kayaks. They look really nice once inflated.

We have had these a couple weeks now and we are just tickled to death! Every time we’ve hit the lake or river we’ve had people ask us about them...because so many folks have them here in our area.
Okay I’ll say it...the pump is garbage and I’ve already broken one but we’re on the hunt for an electric one anyway, so no biggie. Plus the pump from our second one is holding up and does the job.
Super easy to inflate and deflate.
Extremely stable!
Tons of room...my wife and I can manage in one boat. Maybe if you are a really tall person it wouldn’t work with 2 adults but from what I’ve seen most kayaks wouldn’t.
Tracks well in the water.
The material is durable...I accidentally paddled over a shallow rock and the boat was just fine!
These are so portable. My wife has a Jeep and just loves that she can throw both (deflated) boats in her cargo area with no problem.
We let ours dry out in the garage when we get home and that’s working well.
For what they are, they are awesome. Will you be able to paddle rapids or choppy seas, no. But for good times with the family and limited storage space...these are absolutely perfect!!!!!

This kayak is pretty awesome for the price. Here's why.
1. Easy to inflate if you use an air compressor. The pump they send with the kayak works but takes a while. It's a hand pump made like a bike tire pump.
2. The kayak is made of thick plastic. This isn't done cheap crap. It holds up really well.
3. They send several patches about the size of a 2 inch square. I haven't had to use any patches yet.
4. The seats are adjustable! The seats can come fully off the kayak because they have velcro on the bottom. The seat is adjustable at the back via a back strap. The seat bottom can be attached at various positions depending on your leg length.
5. The paddles work well but they are very basic. The paddles are segmented so they can be taken apart.
6. The kayak has a plastic cargo net at the nose and tail. You can attach a bag and stuff to it.
7. The kayak is super easy to deflate on both side walls but the bottom /floor is tougher. It can fold in half and easily go in a standard trunk.
8. Use the bottom rudder fin!! Unless you want to paddle in circles.
9. The kayak storage bag is crappy.
All together this kayak is great! We love it!

This is an amazing Kayak. My best friend and I descended a 2000 ft canyon. I had it strapped in front of me from my backpack. The big mistake was to trust the light, thin pack it was sent in. However, if I repackaged it in a durable bag, the trip would have been less painful. There where three times the pack broke loose and tumbled over three different 100 foot repels and additonal 100 foot tumbles. We were 8 miles from our exit point. After a night camp, we faced a 9 hour kayak to our pick up. Amazingly, the kayak was intact and inflated with no issues. This baby is amazing and saved us!!! We had a few minor injuries on our decent and an airlift would not be possible. I can not express enough about its durability and viability in the most extreme settings. It endured rapids and over weight with no negative effect. My buddy and I weigh 210 lbs. each and with another 125+ lbs of climbing and camping gear, it never was low and it propelled safely, easily through class 3 rapids and low rocks. Clearly, we were over the manufacturer's recommended weight by a lot. I would not recommend this to anyone, but actually, I can say this is the best back country inflatable kayak I have ever experienced. I will always trust it and I can't wait for this year's next adventure! Only advice that I have is to repack it in a durable bag when going back country. I recommend to the company that they offer that upgrade option for purchase. This kayak can handle extreme adventures! I am thankful to the company for providing an excellent product!

My wife and I plan on taking this to Florida this winter and wanted to test it out before we took it with us. We have ocean going kayaks, but they are heavy and must be carted on the roof so we were considering taking this kayak instead. We were expecting it to be difficult to inflate, but the little hand pump worked quickly and efficiently. We expected the paddles to be cheap and shabby but they were sturdy and easy to assemble and disassemble. We took it out into a lake and had a great time. It was comfortable and sturdy enough to make us feel safe in aligator territory .

I purchased this kayak because I needed a boat I could put into my Nissan Sentra and would be easy to take to the water's edge since I am disabled. Wow! And, I absolutely love this boat.
It takes about ten minutes to set up and five minutes to break down. With multiple compartments, it is easy to inflate and deflate. The inflatable pillow seats are very comfortable for your back and the boat is easy to carry with a person on each end.
I have used the kayak alone and with my brother. We have taken it on lakes, ponds and the Delaware River. It's one tough little kayak. It has scraped over multiple rocks and gotten stuck in the shallow areas. Its easy to get in and out of and there is room for gear like food.
Now, it comes with a fin which makes the kayak move gracefully in the water and maneuver well. Without it, it is a lot more difficult to control but shouldn't be used in a shallow river, it is not recommended to have it on. We did once and it banged so many rocks and got scraped up good but to our relief, did not breaK or damage the kayak.
I gave it five stars for ease of use, durability and convenience. I paid the original $229 cost and am shocked at the much higher price. I hate when companies price gauge, but it seems all boats are more expensive.

I love this kayak. I can throw it in the back of my truck bed, inflate it in 5 minutes, have fun all day, then throw it right back in my truck. They are light, easy to carry, easy to inflate. Way better and cheaper than having to haul a trailer with kayaks on it, then worrying about strapping them down, finding a place to turn around. Man, throw these in a bag in the back of your car or truck and go! I have 2 of them right now, about to purchase 2 more for friends to use.
These are also pretty comfortable. because you can add more or take out air for the seats, there are a lot of options to keep you from getting uncomfortable, and you can change it up at any time. The seats fill up by mouth in just a few breathes, so you don't need a pump while going down the river.
The only complain I have is that the paddles are a bit too short, and not very powerful. For the price of the kayak, this is a cheap and easy fix. The paddles work, but you can spend just a little extra on some better paddles and significantly improve your enjoyment with these kayaks.

Best 199 bucks ever spent. We have taken this puppy out on the lake 3 times and it doesnt disappoint. Easy to inflate. In fact I prefer the manual pump that came with it over the electric pump. Easier to use. Easy to deflate. I recommend carrying a towel to wipe it dry before rolling it back up. This way you won't have to worry about mildew. It folds back up nicely. The bag is spacious enough to pack inflatable life vests deflated, water shoes, water proof phone cases, the air pump and oars. I do recommend buying premium oars. That's about it. My daughter and I are both 5'7" and we aren't cramped for leg room. The skeg is pretty sturdy too. Locks in and pretty difficult to disengage even when dismantling so no worries about it scraping the bottom of the boat slip or shoreline and becoming undone or lost. Sad they're price gauging. Doubt I'd pay $299 for an inflatable $200 boat.

I wanted a two person Kayak for my wife and I. We have a couple small ponds and Reservoir. I didn’t want to spend $800. for a big hard plastic one since we would be using it occasionally. This took 10 mins to blow up with the Air Pump that comes with it. So we can take it on trips and camping. I’m very pleased with it and don’t have any regrets buying it. Wasn’t even $200 vs $800 for endless fun.

We are a family of four (two parents, two teens) looking for fun and safe things to do for the Summer of Covid-19. We have plenty of waterways nearby, but until now, no way (outside of swimming) to enjoy them. Enter these fabulous kayaks!
I can't speak yet to durability because we've only had them a few days, but I can provide my initial impressions, which are ALL good.
Inflating these had been ridiculously quick and easy -- about 10 minutes, even the very first time. The included pump is powerful and easy to use. In my opinion, any reasonably fit teen or adult can inflate this kayak quickly and without any fuss. Don't forget to attach the rudder to the bottom of the kayak -- one of our party did, and had a much harder time controlling it (of course!). The paddles pop together quickly and securely.
We are all over 6' tall, so we purchased four kayaks. I think it would be pretty snug for us with two to a boat, but we feel like the kings of spaciousness with a kayak for each of us. In fact, once we've paddled to wherever we're going, we often lie down in the kayak and just chill. Because they're inflatable, they're ridiculously comfortable; you could seriously nap in these.
The seats offer some support with the straps (since we're one to a boat, we only install one seat), although as with most kayaks, back support leaves something to be desired. I still find it more comfortable than traditional hard kayaks.
We found these on super sale on Warehouseschoice.com (almost half price), so we are positively thrilled and feel that they were an absurdly great deal. Even at full price, now that we've been out in them a few times, I think they're well worth the price.
I recommend this kayak without reservation!

We have used our Intex Explorer K2 Kayak 3 times now and love it! I weigh 150 and my husband weighs 200. We pack in life vests, fishing equipment, and a small lunch cooler with drinks and snacks, no problem. The boat is comfortable for long periods on a pond or small lake and I love how adjustable the seats are. As you can see in my pictures I have no problems getting comfortable and can even lay down and nap while my husband fishes!
The kayak shipped out quickly and arrived in new condition. We experienced no issues with inflation and have only topped it off with air once. This is a great buy and if it ever wears out we will probably purchase another one.

THE GOOD: Recently moved to FL and bough this to explore all of the FW springs. It's pretty amazing! We love that its so easy to store and travel with, living in a tiny apt we don't have room for standard kayaks and it's awesome that it just fits in the top of the closet and also easily with a large cooler the back of our CRV. The oars are great and break down really easily. It inflates quick with the manual pump. We do have an automatic air pump that came with our air matress that we use to blow it up 95% (car cigarette lighter plug) and then manually pump to 100% full. Takes maybe 5-7 min tops once you know the drill. I also carry a lot of expensive non waterproof camera equipment with me in a large case and there's enough room for it in the front but I do wish it was a little more spacious. We keep a gallon of water and a dry bag with snacks and first aid kit in the back. Also our mask/snorkel/fins. It's AMAZING for the price (we paid $199) and it has already paid for itself several times over. Our friends have an inflatable from Costco that has a fabric/kevlar material over the vinyl and I do wish these had that as well since we got a hole in the side in the first month. The patches it comes with are USELESS, I feel like they should come with glue but don't. The other "intex inflatable" patches I bought also are useless lol. I had a hard time finding the right patch online but then found the HDX vinyl repair kit from Home Depot and it worked great! Patched it (not inflated) and let sit for 24 hours. Inflated it and let it sit for for 48 hours to see if it held. Just water tested it last weekend for a 3 hour kayak and held no problem at all. Actually the patch in that specific kit is clear so you can really see if it worked on the hole or not - I prefer this over the colored patches. We also bought some Flexi tape to keep in our dry bag with first aid kit for on the go punctures (hopefully we don't have any more lol). It's also easy to get off and on the kayak when in the water maybe more so than a standard as the sides give a little and feels way less "tippy". Since it does sit pretty low, my hubs in the back can can even dawn a mask and dip just his face in the water staying dry. I love the fact that we don't have to worry about places being sold out of kayaks. We always have the option to rent a standard if we really wanted to but so far only have once when we inflated and found the hole. If you launch from a dock you can actually stay 100% dry in this which I find kind of surprising. All in all a great buy for the price!!
NOT SO GOOD: Super minor things, the fin is long so we do get caught up once in a while but we're often in super shallow springs. It does seem to get holes somewhat easily (on our 3rd use) but also easy to repair. Not sure about a hole on a seam situation. You do sit pretty low.... this is not a dealbreaker but hubs is 6'0" and I am 5'4" and our hands do rub on the sides when paddling, a little bothersome. We have since started putting out wetsuits folded up under us for a little extra boost and that helps. You can definitely tell the difference between the seat height in this vs a standard and the backs aren't quite as solid as a standard kayak but it does the job The wind does push you around a bit more than a standard kayak since the nose is angled more upwards, its still stable in the rocking/tipping sense but you do not cut the water as well as a standard kayak that's for sure. For all of the convenience in how compact it is and the freedom to inflate and launch anywhere, makes up for all of these minor issues. Haven't taken it on the ocean or any rough water yet so can't comment on that. I think the springs are prettier anyway LOL!

This is a great kayak! It does take a little time airing up, it probably took me about 15 minutes (I plan on buying a wireless air pump) but it is wonderful out on the water! I definitely plan on purchasing longer paddles, as the current ones are only 7’ and barely give me enough momentum. Please remember when first using, it may feel like it’s “deflating” after some time, but that’s just due to the material stretching from first use.

Due to limited storage space I opted to try this inflatable kayak rather than purchasing a full size kayak, and I am so glad I did! I took this out just myself (and my pup) and set up, inflation, and used was so straightforward and easy. The carrying bag was incredibly handy both for taking down to the water as well as holding extra gear while on the water. I'm glad it wasn't incredibly large, heavy or awkward to carry down to the water because I am a petite and 5'2". I took my dog and she loved it! I opted not to inflate the front seat and had more than enough room for her to sit and be comfortable while I paddled from the back. I did lay down a towel, mainly so that she wouldn't slide while trying to walk. The material seems sturdy and I wasn't worried about her nails puncturing anything. I have yet to try it with two people, I imagine that the legroom might be a little tight, but for the ease and convenience of this kayak I'm not too worried about it. If you're thinking of getting this just do it!

Brought one of these, together with another couple, to go kayaking together. For ~$225 dollars, this is hundreds cheaper than other kayaks. So the price point here is definitely attractive. That said, there were some issues I faced.
Inflating/Deflating : Inflating it doesn't take too long with the included inflator, which is great. However, you do have to inflate 5 different chambers, which can get quite tedious. I know there's a certain order to which these should be inflated in, but I feel like it can be reduced to 2-3 different inflation points and not 5. Which also makes deflating it also a huge pain. No easy way either to deflate it completely without air left in there without an external tool, because the way you fold it up does not allow the different inflation/deflation valves to be all on the outside to allow air to escape.
Storage/Folding : Folding it up for storage is okay - it's not extremely difficult but it's no walk in the park either. Takes a bit of wrestling to fold it up in a way that fits into the storage bag, as there's no clear guide on the best way to fold it. Also as noted above, hard to make sure all the air is out properly. Storage bag is a bit of a joke, not sturdy at all, already have a rip in it. Not sure how long the handle attachment points will last either.
Stability : On the water, it floats, and seems slightly wobbly but nothing too different from other cheaper standard (non inflate) kayaks. However, when changing direction, it seems to be harder to control, as I believe the way the underside of the kayak is shaped makes it 'sit' on top of the water as opposed to cutting through it.

I was debating between this and the Intex Challenger K1 or K2 for myself...not sure if I wanted a 1 or 2 seater, since it's mainly just for me. After a week of obsessing about it and asking random people by the river why they chose the kayak they chose and what they liked about it, I settled on a 2- seater. The Challenger was sold out so I went for this one, and I am SO GLAD I did!
I immediately inflated it to check out the size, comfort, ease of assembly, etc, and I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't long with hand pump before the whole thing was inflated in my living room and scaring my dog with its presence. I played around with the seat location, since it's adjustable, and settled on pushing the front seat as far back as I could to comfortably fit my long legs and leave ample space behind me to toss my stuff. Because I'm going alone, I wanted setup by the river or lake to be as low-maintenance as possible.
I deflated the kayak by about 30% and was able to fold it into the back of my Grand Cherokee with just one of the back seats folded down and plenty of room to spare. It only took maybe 5 minutes the time I parked at the lake to finish inflating and have it the water! Getting out was just as quick and easy, which was great because a storm was rolling in!
If you're trying to move particularly fast on the water or stay entirely dry, then maybe don't get a large inflatable kayak... I didn't get soaked, but it did take on a decent bit of water as I frantically tried to paddle back across the lake when I noticed the oncoming storm in the distance. It may have been my lack of paddling skills though. Haven't taken it out with anyone else yet, so I'm assuming it'll move along pretty well with a second person paddling. Plenty of room to ride comfortably with a friend or my dog, but it also moves well with just me paddling along by myself. This was the perfect birthday gift to myself, for sure!

I got this kayak so I could shuttle hubs around the river to different snorkel spots, and it works GREAT for both one or two passengers.

We took the kayak out for the first time last week. Set up was easy - 5-10 minutes. We took it out on a lake 4 days in a row and loved it. Quite comfortable and easy to paddle. It feels quite durable. The seats have adjustment straps and after a few tries we each liked the support. It is amazing to get so much enjoyment for such a low price. When we were ready to go we just let it dry out a while, wiped it down and deflated it. We decided not to use the bag that came with it so we store it in a plastic storage box. Everything fit back in easily. Between the two of us we weigh just under 400 lbs. We didn't see any issue with our weight.

My husband and I took our two boys camping and decided to buy a kayak. We only bought one because we weren't sure if we would like it and was concerned about the weight. We camp and hike down to a canyon lake. I was able to carry it on my back like a backpack all the way down and back up the mountain. It wasn't easy but soooooo worth it! We were even able to fit one adult and two kids (10 & 8) in the kayak.

Incredible deal for the $$ - under $200 and on the water in less than 15 minutes! The only three negatives I have are: 1. the inflatable seat is much too low - began having lower back issues within an hour of paddling due to near zero support. I laid down against the tiny seat and put my feet up on the gunnles, and it helped, then stuck my rather stiff life vest between me and the seat which gave it some height and stiffness, it helped a lot! But now in search of a higher seat to use. 2. although advertised for two people, I don't see how my 6 ft 225 lb frame and my wife's 5.3 ft 115lb frame can possibly fit comfortably together in this boat. even with the back seat all the way back in furthest position my feet would still be around the sides of her tiny seat. So we are buying an other Kayak for her. But the advantage will be more room and more cargo can be placed in my K2. 3. the paddles are too short, using as is I found I dripped a lot of water into the kayak and onto my legs. A quick trip back to land and using a piece from the second supplied oar enabled me to extend the paddles by over a foot which prevented water from getting in the kayak, but make the paddle a bit heavier and made the second supplied paddle useless. I hope this helps - all in all, after a few small mods this will be a great solo kayak!

I got this boat a few months ago, and have thus far used it on about 10 fishing trips. So far, it's done it's job - cheap, portable, and gets me out on the water where the fish are. I bought the kayak as a stopgap until I could afford a real fishing kayak, and for that part, it's done it's job. The durability has been good - because I need to inflate it near my car (I use an electric pump from Intex, can't stand hand-pumping for 20 minutes) I have to drag it to the water, and it's held up surprisingly well being drug over dirt, gravel, rocks and grass. That said, as other reviews have mentioned, I lost my skeg on about my third trip out with it, and it definitely makes navigating a bit more difficult.
Performance wise, the kayak does fine. I can navigate with it, I've figured out a decent system using the straps and clips on it to hold down the seat, as well as tether my tackle bag, oar, dry bags, etc without issue. I will say that, even being only a few months into use, it's starting to break down a bit - I have no leaks and it holds air for an entire day of fishing (though it seems a bit lower by end of day, obviously), the left side seems to either have warped a bit or takes less air, as the boat leans to the left enough to be noticeable when looking at it, and certainly while sitting in it. The kayak also takes noticeably less air than when I first got it, especially in the bottom, so I seem to sit lower in the water, so I end up with more water in the boat and end up filling the kayak with water every time I try to get out of it.
All in all, about what I expected though - it gets me where I want to go and has held up pretty well so far. It's gotten me out and to much bigger fish than fishing from the shore ever would have, and did so in a very affordable way.

I'm so excited to take this kayak out on the water! I had probably dedicated four hours of research to find the best bang for your buck inflatable kayak. Reason being is because I have a small car and this would be easier to take with me since is is so compact when deflated. Fully inflating the bottom part of the seat made it uncomfortable to me, so I only inflated it maybe to half capacity. The back support of the seat I did fully inflate as much as I could quickly retain air in it and it feels great on my back. Make sure when removing the caps for each side of the kayak that you unscrew the top part of the cap to inflate and remove the cap completely to deflate. I'm not one to read the directions first! Haha. I will post an update once I get to actually use it. I have also purchased an anchor and some attachments so that I don't lose the skeg. Though the skeg does seem secure, I'm not risking it. If you have any questions about this, comment on my post. ** I also purchased Grip Tape, and will be applying that to the bottom to prevent any tears. I purchased Houseables Grip Tape Roll which is 60 ft long and I selected 2 inch width, so I will be applying 6 strips on the bottom of the kayak. I will post photos in a couple days.

I bought this for me and my family to use on a camping trip, easier to haul than a plastic kayak. My expectation was low, I have bad luck with inflatable rafts and such. I had the attitude that if it lasted the 5 day trip and kids enjoyed it I would get my money worth. This is so worth the $249! I had 4 kids in it most of the week, the were jumping out in middle of the lake and swimming.Personally I think the seats are a little low but I sat on my lifejacket and that made me feel better! For inflatable seats they are comfortable and supportive, if you sit on something for height the backrest is too low too really lean on but I tend to sit up when I paddle. When I was out in middle of lake I easily turned around and sat on the floor and leaned against the front and put the backrest to my seat down and stretched my legs out so I could face my other half and chat while enjoying a cold drink….it was great!

Awesome purchase! My husband and I purchased this to explore Arizona lakes. Took it out in Lake Pleasant for 6 hours and it was loads of fun! Max weight capacity says 400 lbs but we easily had 450lbs between the both us, a cooler, gallon of water and a backpack full of misc. gear. The skeg locks in and it got a little scraped up as to be expected...but it held in place no problem. We did purchase a separate set of paddles so I cannot review the ones that came with this boat. We used the pump that came with it instead of our electric one. It took 10 mins to fill and super easy! If you are looking for something to take on a lake or easy river, this is the way to go!

Update, 3rd summer season, 2018
Bumped to 5 stars.
I still LOVE it. It’s maintained its durability, and I’ve had no problems with holes, leaks, or failing valves-
this is enjoying the kayak several times per week, with my dog on board. I use a cheap yoga mat on the floor of the boat for extra protection.
*We both, me and my dog, always wear a life vest!
I love the portability and ease of set up and take down. I did decide to buy a power pump that plugs into my car. This quickens the set up process, and is especially helpful with complete deflation.

I have 3, have owned them a season now and have been torture testing them, did great on over 20 lake trips this season, even did pretty good on my 8 river trips on a river that got up to class 4 (Poudre River), porting is not good enough for the larger rapids so you have to get to the side to dump it out occasionally if you are doing class 3 and up, I was very impressed how it could handle rock hit after rock hit in the turbulent waters.

I wanted a hard-side kayak but decided to settle for one of these inflatable ones. It's perfect for our little family! My husband and I fit in there great with our 3 year old. Our hights are 6'1", 5'9", and 3'1". Our weight all together is about 390 lbs. plus we had a couple of small backpacks in the kayak with us. When everything was arranged properly, we fit fairly comfortably. The kayak moves great through the water! I was surprised at how fast we got it going. It's very easy to maneuver. I'm glad we won't have to worry about where to store a hard-side kayak as the Intex explorer is easy to deflate and store almost anywhere. One more thing, if you are trying to decide between this one and the others , get this one! We did a side-by-side comparison and this one came out on top.

I love this kayak! You can go swimming in the middle of the lake. Re-entering is easy and it won't flip. When you remove both seats 2 people can comfortably sit on inflated floor facing each other and enjoy lazy afternoon on the water. You can also buy kayak anchor and enjoy sunshine without a drift.

We are experienced Kayakers who have other hard sit on top and sit in kayaks. This was our first inflatable. For the price of admission, ours turned out to be a great purchase. We use it on vacation, so that we don’t have to carry our expensive kayaks on our vehicle for hundreds or thousands of miles, and worry about them getting stolen when we camp. We have used our Intex Explorer on the ocean inlet canals in Murrel’s Inlet, SC and it works great for that. Smooth water with some current. Our limit is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours before we feel cramped and need to take a break by getting out of the yak. I am 6’ and wife is 5’ 8”. This kayak is a little short for two people our sizes, but anything significantly longer is a lot more money so we make due. The Explorer K2 tracks well using the included skeg and when good paddling technique is used. When we paddle hard and fast in unison, it tracks very straight and is speedy enough. When letting off and ceasing all paddling, it will drift and the rear will start to swing out some. Not a big deal. The materials used seem durable enough for the price point. The only thing we really would like changed would be the inflation valves on the floor and on the front and rear bow and stern covers leave a little to be desired. They are the cheap little clear flip out valves like are used on inflatable pool toys. The other valves to inflate the sides the are the nice kind of valves that don’t let air escape when you pull the air pump out after inflating. Again, for the price point we figure they have to cut corners somewhere, and these are the areas they did. But all in all this is an amazing value for the money. We are done with set up and inflation using the included pump within 10-12 minutes, and deflation is even quicker. If we find we start using the Intex more and more, we may upgrade at some point to a longer (like 12-13 ft) inflatable kayak. If Intex made one, we’d buy it today. So if you want the convenience of a kayak you can take with you anywhere (comes with it’s own bag), and you want in for low cost, the Explorer K2 is a good way to go! Thanks Much, Willy C
